Hertford Cycle Hub is a not for profit social enterprise dedicated to supporting Cycling and Active Travel across the East Hertfordshire District. Our aim is to encourage people to lead healthier lives, reduce short car journeys and C02 emissions through Cycling. Our community Cycling hub provides services such as bicycle maintenance lessons, learn to cycle classes, led bike rides, bicycle hire, upcycling bicycles and much more. Beginner Biking Requirements:
🔹 Each 1 hour session will be for 8 child / carer pairs
🔹 Stabilisers should be removed from children's bikes before the start of the course
🔹 Parents / carers must understand that they are there to help their child to learn

Level 1 Bikeability
This course is tailored for Year 3 & 4 (7 – 9 years old). Bikeability Level 1 includes activities and games to improve bike handling, use of gears, signalling and ability to look behind while riding. These courses aim to get children enjoying cycling and give them the basic bike control skills to develop as responsible cyclists. Please note, cyclists must be able to ride a bicycle without stabilisers in order to attend this course.

Level 2 Bikeability
This course is ideal for individuals aged 10 years of age and over. Level 2 takes place on local streets, giving trainees a real cycling experience. Trainees learn how to deal with traffic on short journeys such as cycling to school or the local shops. On the level 2 course you'll learn about:
🔹 Recognising potential dangers ahead
🔹 Signalling your intentions to other road users
🔹 Riding on a road with traffic
🔹 The basics of the highway code
🔹 Decision making and how to ride safely.
