Our Story

Hertford Cycle Hub CIC is a registered not-for-profit organisation that is predominantly managed by volunteers who reside in the local area. The organisation was established in 2020, with the primary objective of maximising the number of individuals who are able to cycle. A bicycle has the potential to revolutionise an individual’s life, granting them access to an array of vital services, including healthcare and education. We firmly believe that everyone has the right to experience the freedom and joy that cycling can provide.

Our Mission

Here at Hertford Cycle Hub, our mission is to increase the number of opportunities local residents have to choose Cycling as their primary mode of transport. We want people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to be able to cycle safely.

Whether that’s a child learning how to ride a bicycle in order to get to school.

Donating bicycles to those choosing between eating and transport.

Or simply providing safe Cycling routes to reduce social isolation, obesity levels and overall health.

Client Testimonials

“I’m disabled and had to stop work in 2017. Since then my mobility has decreased an awful lot which means my Heath has declined too. I’m now obese with a high BMI and am suffering from related conditions including type 2 diabetes high cholesterol and high pulse rate (related to an operation). I’d love to have a bike to try and increase my mobility and to help loosing weight. I also think it would benefit my mental health including my severe ocd and anxiety”.

"I just wanted to say a huge thank you to you and your team for putting on the bike riding sessions in Bishops Stortford a couple of weeks ago. I cannot tell you what a difference it has made and I am proud to say that we now have a very keen and confident young cyclist in the household. Thank you so much!".
